Oh BOY!!! (or girl???)

I'm sure many have already heard our latest news, but the Lord has blessed us with another BABY!! We are thrilled. He/she should arrive around the 12th of December. That will make Hayley almost 3 1/2 and Jack will be almost 23 months. So we will definitely have our hands full, but we are blown away by this incredible blessing and so excited to have another little one around here to love on! It's interesting b/c my mom felt really strongly a couple of months ago not to recommit to a bunch of her activities in Austin for next year. She wasn't 100% why she felt like she shouldn't, but trusted it was what God wanted for her. YAY, GOD!! He was looking after ME!! She'll have much more flexibility to help us out and we are so happy about that. I ordered all new stockings for our family last Christmas and I went ahead and ordered one extra---not thinking I'd use it THIS Christmas!!! Too fun! We appreciate prayers for a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy---and a supernatural gift of ENERGY this first trimester!

I went on a sister trip this weekend to a
Joyce Meyer conference in Phoenix, AZ! My sisters and I hadn't spent good time together since we went to Europe for 3 weeks together and backpacked the year after I graduated from college. Abby was only 16, Angie was 21 and I was 23. Kind of hard to believe my parents went for that one! We're SO glad they did though! We had such a blast. We had some good quality time together and it went way to fast! Anyone who has never heard Joyce Meyer speak should seriously listen to her if you ever get the chance. She has a tv program on Daystar "Enjoying Everyday Life" and she has teachings on her website you can listen to. She's so encouraging and I have really grown to love her. It's a great way to get a "pick me up" during the day when kids are napping!

I think we're done w/ sicknesses around here for awhile. Hayley passed her pink eye to Jack--he came down w/ it last week and his also turned into an ear infection. I asked the dr. if he could pass it back to Hayley or if she was immune since she just had it and the dr. said, YES she could get it again! WHAT??? How on earth do you keep this vicious cycle from repeating? Lots of prayer is the answer. Looking forward to a great week and to getting to see the newest addition at my dr.'s appointment on Friday! Here we go again!!!

I had heard about this and now I'm so happy it is out in the open!
What blessings we have when God gives us children. I will be praying continually for you that you will have good health and an extra measure of strength with 2 toddlers. Christine and Emily were 2 years apart and Emily was only 22 months when Brad came along. God is so good...He knows when we need a little extra energy!
So happy for you all! Also, I, too, am a fan of Joyce Meyer and usually watch her late night reruns of the day. What an amazing warrior in God's army!
Hugs!

Things just wouldn't be right if we weren't pregnant together! :) I am SO thrilled I get to share being pregnant with you again! Good for you for ordering another stocking! I have thought that I need to do that. One less thing to worry about next Christmas.
Hope you are feeling well and glad you had a great time with your sisters.

Oh, I hadn't heard - that's such fun news, though!!! Congratulations, and I do pray for energy . . both for first trimester and for around December when things get a little more crazy (and very fun) around your household! I think I found some kind of natural energy drink with no caffiene that I drank a lot with my last pregnancy - I don't remember what it was, but it was a life saver. Blessings to you -

Hmmm, I might need the name of that drink! I'm very thankful that Hayley and Jack both nap at the same time in the afternoons right now!

And Mindy, it's always good to see other moms have done this and that you AND your children turned out okay! :)

Thanks for your comments and for being excited for us!

I never think the world has enough babies so you know how excited I am! :) After our conversation when you told me, I was praising God for the heart He has given you and the strength He is obviously filling you with at this time in your life. Your constant growth in the Lord is a challenge to me. You know I'm a big Shelma fan. Love you!

As John talks about his upcoming birthday, he always makes sure Hayley and Jack are on the invite list. Little buddies!

Yippee!! Too exciting. By the way, we won't be bringing Elizabeth with us in a few weeks when we come to visit. We'd love for her to play with you all, but we'll just have to do that another time. I'm sooo happy for you. My mom had 3 kids in 3 years/2 months and we all turned out great! Ha. And then Kellee came along 3 years later. Could that be in your future, too?!!

Glad to hear your great news. Hope all goes well. I will be praying for your energy. I think the "natural" drink my sister was refering to was Dr. Pepper. Not really I am kidding, but a little Dr. Pepper has got to make kids smarter. That is what I tell myself when I have the "natural" drink.

Ok, Shelly, not that I'm researching this for you or anything, so don't think I'm wierd, but I remembered I got the "energy drinks" from Gregg Powell - he and his wife have a business that provides alot of health productes, home stuff, etc. And I just happened to talk to him yesterday, which made me remember that that was the source, so I asked him about it. They are "XS" drinks and come in different flavors. He even said he'd bring me a couple for you to try in case you want to get some. I was really just being sympathetic to the low energy thing when I mentioned them, but since I did, thought I'd follow through and let you know what it was in case you want to try! ha! Anything that helps in those first weeks!!! Take care -

We are so excited for you guys. I can't believe you are having baby number three! But if anyone can do it, it's you. Take care and I hope things are going good. We need to get together soon.

Linda said...

Congratulations on #3.....it will be so much fun (but very tiring) to have them so close....we had our 3 in 4 years, so you beat us. We still say it seemed like a blur, but we loved it! Hope you are still feeling good. Love you, Linda

Kendra--
I don't think you're weird at all! I'm totally interested. Let me know when/if he gives you the samples and I'll run by and pick it up! Thanks!!

Shelma,

I am so excited for you guys... when we had Addie, Avery was only 3 years and 3 months old and Aidan was 15 months old... and we had NO HELP! HOW DID WE DO IT? One day at a time :-) That's how we did it. It's so sweet to look back on now how God gave us just what we needed. (I don't have to look too far back). I can't believe Addie is potty trained and no one in my house wears diapers! It's kinda crazy!!!
I am thrilled for you - ENJOY!
Much love,
Tracie

I've got the goods for ya, Shelly - Mr. Powell delivered to my door on Friday! Do you want me to send them with Donna to BSF on Wednesday or something? I can never find you at church, and I live just down off Martin from your in-laws so it sure would be easy to get them to her if that would bless you? Let me know!

Shelly said...

Kendra--
Could you possibly give them to Tara at BSF? She comes over to pick up Scout afterwards so she could just drop them by. Thanks for doing this! Let me know what I owe you--

Kendra said...

I'll ge them so someone - I'm actually not in BSF, I thought you were, but I forgot you are childcare so Tara can go! Oops! And no cost - Greg said "it's a sample pack" for you to see if you like. No buying pressure - just to try and see if you get a boost!
